Trauma-Focused Support
I am proud to offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.)
This is based on the principles of memory storage in and retrieval. Here’s a quick breakdown of how it works:
A.R.T. uses rapid eye movements—similar to those we experience during the REM stage of our sleep—to reprocess traumatic memories that cause distress or other negative effects. This is completely non-invasive.
Rapid eye movements stimulate neural pathways, enabling the brain to “overwrite” or reframe the negative emotions associated with those memories.
The core facts remain, but the emotional impact and associated triggers can be adjusted and eliminated.
On average, the benefits of A.R.T. can begin to appear within one to three sessions—but for complex traumas or when addressing multiple traumatic events, more sessions may be necessary.
This is not about erasing or suppressing memories; it’s about changing our relationship with them. The memories remain, but their emotional sting is reduced, making them more manageable and less intrusive.
A.R.T. pulls from a variety of interventions such as EMDR, Gestalt, and Psychodynamic to create a powerful, direct and time-sensitive approach
This is an excellent, safe, non invasive tool for PTSD, Anxiety, Trauma, Abuse, Acute Stress, Phobias and OCD.
Especially effective for combat trauma.
At the end of the day, I want you to know:
You are not your trauma, your anxiety, your depression, or your perceived failures.
You are imperfect, and competent, worthy of being here, of being healed, and loving and being loved.
What you focus on expands. I want you to leave every meeting with me with a plan, a renewed sense of optimism, some unmasked emotions, and a greater sense of hope that not only do you belong, but you have always belonged.
Trauma is personal. I have experienced it, worked with it and helped individuals heal and find their way to wholeness for over twenty years. It’s time for you to live and love freely again.
Hope to see you soon,
Dawn
